About Us
The Lazy Loon Lodge is a family-owned and run small business. We all have our roles in the Lodge so you may see us from time to time throughout the day. Jiffy is the main restaurant service person that you will probably see the most of. She also doubles in hotel reservations, the paperwork side, and a host of other things. David is the "all-round person," which includes maintenance of the property, cooking, inventory, and a host of other items, as well. The ever-elusive Cinda is our housekeeper, keeping our rooms available and spotless. Tami, who has the most important job of all, manages the grandchildren making sure the rest of us can get the necessities completed during the day. Tami also manages our reservations, so you will most likely speak to Tami when you call for a reservation or need a room code.
About our Rooms
Our goal has always been to be a family-owned business that gives value to our guests. We take pride in our rooms. We love the classic Northwoods-style rooms, and we try to decorate accordingly. We have completed a considerable number of updates to bring more of a piece of mind than a needed repair, and we continue to strive for comfort with value. Our rooms are pet-friendly, and we consider pets as part of the family.
About our Restaurant
We attempt to be as close to a "farm-to-table" restaurant as the Northwoods of Wisconsin allows. This includes sourcing our products locally through the local Farmer's Market and local producers such as Patterson's Sugarbush in Park Falls (Maple Syrup), Bigfoot BBQ Sauce in Butternut, and, though Super One is a corporate company, we consider it a local business because it employs so many community residents.
We feel it is the little things that count, as well. We grind our own rice flour, bake our own muffins, shred red potatoes for hash browns, make our signature Loon Lemon Sauce, smoke our own cheese, create maraschino cherries, and all soups and chili are made from scratch, amongst a host of other things.
